How Long do extensions last? I have read they can last up to 3 months!
This is an industry half truth (half lie) used in marketing. Lashes have a 3 month life cycle from the growth state, to the resting state, and finally to the shedding stage. 3 months from beginning to end, give or take a few DAYS. Your eyelashes shed off every day just like your hair.
If extensions are applied properly you will be shedding your lashes naturally and new lashes will be growing in. However if lashes are IMPROPERLY applied they can appear to last longer since a clump of lashes glued together will not allow the natural shedding process to take place. The downside to improperly applied lashes is they are painful as the lashes that are growing are plucking out the lashes that are resting. Given enough time you will have successfully plucked out your eyelashes. Know what happens when you repeatedly pluck your brows? Yes, you guessed it, permanent hair loss. There should never be two natural lashes glued together, unless you truly want your lash line to look like a plucked chicken. Proper extension training can not be trivialized. At Dina S Good Salon you will get no false promises, or over hyped marketing. While we have clients that go 6 weeks between their fills the average runs about 3 weeks. If you choose to do no maintenance your lashes will shed off and by 3 months you will be back to where you started, but with no damage to your lash line. Many of our clients experience better lashes by about the 6 month mark due to no lash curlers, pulling or tugging, or mascara drying out their lashes causing breakage!
How do I select a salon to have my eyelash extensions put on?
Over the last 5 years we have seen numerous salons add 'lash services' to their menu, only to receive frantic calls from people who trusted their lashes to a technician that received certification after taking a one day class. All of our technicians are trained for MONTHS compared to a single day, to ensure that your extensions not only look beautiful but are also comfortable and healthy for your lash line.
I just went to a different salon, so how do I know if the salon I went to put them on correctly?
We get these phone calls all of the time, people have been to a salon but they are not sure if it was done correctly because they hurt! The one true test besides how they look, (even poorly applied extensions can look good from afar), is to squint your eyes. Do you feel any poking, pulling, or tickling at the lash line? If so, your extensions need to be removed as they are incorrectly applied and can over time cause permanent lash loss! It is important that there is no stress to your natural lashes. At Dina S Good Salon we believe in aggressively guarding the health of your lash line, because the better your lashes are, the more lashes we can apply thereby creating a thick, lush lash line, which is our signature look.
I have seen extensions advertised for MUCH more than you charge in your salon. I want the BEST, so how can you be the best when you don't charge more?
We are not the most expensive, nor are we the cheapest. We decided that we wanted to be the very best eyelash extensionists and the only way to achieve that is to do more eyelash extensions than anyone else in Seattle. We currently have over 3,000 happy clients, many you know, and many you would never guess! Your secret is safe with us.
How do I take care of my new extensions?
Less is more. The less you fiddle, touch, pet or play with them, the better they last. It is important that you keep them clean so we recommend you wash them at least once a day to remove natural oils and environmental pollutants. healthy lashes are clean lashes.
Does it hurt to have Eyelash Extensions applied?
No! Not if they are properly applied. Most people sleep right through their appointment calling it a 'guilt free' nap.
What are Real Mink lashes? I have been several places that have never heard of REAL mink lashes.
Real Mink lashes are harvested without cruelty to Minks. They are made from the long guard hairs of a mink that have shed off during brushing. The advantage to Real Mink Lashes are how weightless and soft they are. They look and feel to the touch just like your own lashes. It is a little bit of luxury that our Mink clients LOVE. Ask your technician to show you the difference. These are not to be confused with the mink 'type' lashes that are popular in the industry.
Why do you require a non-refundable $75.00 deposit at the time of booking?
We have a waiting list of clients that are trying to get in to see us asap, and a deposit assures us that you will be at your appointment, we will not have wasted time when there is someone else who would love to have used that time slot. We try to accommodate our clients by coming early or staying late if at all possible, and there is nothing more frustrating than to have a client not show up for a two hour appointment when we have fielded calls all week from clients who were unable to get in, because we had no openings.
I don't want to look like a Drag Queen, can you make them look natural?
YES! We have 3 curls, 2 diameters, 2 natural colors, 5 fashion colors, and 10 lengths to choose from. We have lashes to fit ANY clients needs.
